Cala Salada Beach, Ibiza

Cala Salada is one of the most beautiful beaches on Ibiza’s west coast, known for its crystal-clear turquoise water, pine-covered hills and peaceful natural surroundings. Located just north of San Antonio (Sant Antoni de Portmany), this picturesque cove is a wonderful place for swimming, snorkelling and enjoying a relaxing day by the Mediterranean.

About Cala Salada

Surrounded by pine forest and rocky cliffs, Cala Salada has retained much of its natural Ibiza charm. The sheltered, clear water is particularly inviting for swimming and snorkelling, while traditional fishermen’s boathouses add character to the coastline.

Cala Salada is especially popular during July and August, so arriving early is recommended if you want to enjoy the beach before it becomes busier.

Cala Salada & Cala Saladeta

A short walk from Cala Salada takes you to neighbouring Cala Saladeta, a smaller and more secluded cove famous for its clear turquoise water and beautiful natural setting.

The route involves a coastal path and rocky sections, so suitable footwear is recommended. Cala Saladeta has fewer facilities than Cala Salada, making it worth taking water and anything else you may need for your visit.

Parking & Getting to Cala Salada

Cala Salada is around 15 minutes by car from San Antonio, but vehicle access is restricted during the main tourist season and parking close to the beach is very limited.

For the 2026 season, controlled road access operates from 1 May to 15 October, between 9:30am and 5:00pm. If you are visiting during summer, public transport or travelling by sea from San Antonio can be a more convenient option.

Facilities

Cala Salada has more facilities than Cala Saladeta, including a restaurant, toilets, lifeguard services during the season and other beach facilities. The restaurant is a lovely option for traditional Mediterranean food, cold drinks or an ice cream during a day at the beach.

Our tip: Visit early in the morning during the summer months. You’ll find the cove quieter, the water beautifully calm and getting to the beach considerably easier.‍
