Es Cavallet Beach, Ibiza

Es Cavallet is one of Ibiza’s most beautiful and distinctive beaches. Located on the south coast of the island, close to Ses Salines, this long stretch of golden sand forms part of the protected Ses Salines Natural Park.

Surrounded by dunes and natural scenery, Es Cavallet has a wonderfully unspoilt feel while still being within easy reach of Ibiza Town, Playa d’en Bossa and Sant Jordi.

The Beach

Es Cavallet is known for its fine sand and clear Mediterranean water, with shades of turquoise, blue and green on sunny days. The long shoreline provides plenty of space for swimming, sunbathing and walking beside the sea.

The beach is clothing-optional and has long been particularly popular with the LGBTQ+ community, although visitors include couples, groups and families.

As with all Ibiza beaches, take care when swimming and pay attention to sea conditions and any lifeguard advice.

Restaurants at Es Cavallet

One of the attractions of Es Cavallet is being able to combine a beach day with a long Mediterranean lunch overlooking the sea.

El Chiringuito Ibiza is one of the island’s best-known beachfront restaurants. Stylish but relaxed, it serves breakfast and lunch alongside cocktails and wine, making it ideal for spending several hours by the beach. It is also popular with families.

La Escollera is another long-established Es Cavallet favourite. Overlooking the Mediterranean, the restaurant specialises in Mediterranean and Ibiza-inspired cuisine and is particularly well known for seafood, rice dishes and leisurely lunches with sea views.

Both restaurants can become very busy during the summer, so booking ahead is recommended, particularly in July and August.

Parking at Es Cavallet

Parking around Es Cavallet is limited, especially during the busiest summer months. Arriving earlier in the day is advisable if you are driving. Some parking is available close to the restaurants, but availability should not be relied upon during peak periods.

Es Cavallet is situated on Ibiza’s southern coastline, next to Ses Salines and within convenient reach of Ibiza Town and Playa d’en Bossa.

Its combination of natural surroundings, clear Mediterranean water and excellent beachfront restaurants makes Es Cavallet a great choice for a relaxed day in southern Ibiza.
