Beach: Cala Carbo
Cala Carbó Beach, Ibiza
Cala Carbó is a small, picturesque beach on Ibiza’s west coast, tucked between Cala Vadella and Cala d’Hort. Surrounded by rocky hillsides and Mediterranean scenery, this peaceful cove is an excellent choice if you are looking for a quieter Ibiza beach away from the island’s larger resorts.
The beach is relatively small, giving Cala Carbó a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Clear Mediterranean water makes it ideal for swimming and snorkelling, while sun loungers and parasols are normally available during the summer season. Traditional fishermen’s huts around the bay add to its character.
Restaurants at Cala Carbó
One of the pleasures of visiting Cala Carbó is being able to combine a beach day with a long Mediterranean lunch. There are two well-known traditional restaurants beside the bay.
Restaurante Balneari Cala Carbó is a family-run beach restaurant specialising in Mediterranean cooking, fresh fish, seafood and paella. Its location beside the beach makes it perfect for a relaxed lunch overlooking the water.
Restaurant Can Vicent is another popular local choice, serving traditional fish, seafood and rice dishes in an informal setting close to the beach.
During the busy summer months, booking a table in advance is recommended, particularly if you are planning a leisurely lunch after a morning on the beach.
Cala Carbó Sunsets & Es Vedrà
Cala Carbó is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of western Ibiza. The surrounding coastline is renowned for its sunsets and its proximity to the iconic rock of Es Vedrà.
Nearby Cala d’Hort is particularly famous for its spectacular views across the sea towards Es Vedrà and is well worth combining with a visit to Cala Carbó.
You can also explore neighbouring Cala Vadella, another attractive west-coast bay offering a larger sandy beach and a wider selection of restaurants and facilities.
Getting to Cala Carbó
Cala Carbó is best reached by car or taxi and is approximately 10 minutes from Cala Vadella. As with many of Ibiza’s smaller beaches, parking can become limited during the busiest summer months, so arriving earlier in the day is advisable.
