Es Cubells Beach Ibiza – Cala des Cubells

Es Cubells Beach lies beneath the picturesque village of Es Cubells on Ibiza’s beautiful south coast. Far removed from the island’s larger resort beaches, this rugged stretch of coastline is known for its clear Mediterranean water, rocky coves and peaceful atmosphere.

The coastline around Cala des Cubells stretches between the areas of Porroig, Es Xarcu and Cala Jondal and includes the exclusive residential area of Vista Alegre. Rather than one long sandy beach, you’ll find small pebbly coves backed by steep, pine-covered hillsides.

Playa de Ses Boques

One of the best places to reach the sea is Playa de Ses Boques, a secluded pebble beach below Es Cubells.

The drive down from the village is steep and winding, but the beautiful coastal setting makes it worth the journey. The beach is relatively small and understated, making it particularly appealing if you prefer discovering Ibiza’s quieter corners rather than spending the day at a busy beach club.

The clear water is ideal for swimming, while the surrounding cliffs create a wonderfully secluded atmosphere.

Restaurants at Es Cubells Beach

The standout restaurant directly beside the beach is Ses Boques, a traditional Ibiza seafood restaurant overlooking its namesake cove.

Ses Boques specialises in Mediterranean and Ibicenco cuisine, with fresh fish, seafood and locally sourced ingredients at the heart of its menu. One of its signature dishes is whole fish baked in Ibiza salt, and the restaurant is an excellent choice for a leisurely lunch beside the Mediterranean.

In Es Cubells village itself, you’ll also find restaurants including Bargrill Llumbi and Restaurante Los Pinos, giving you additional options for lunch or dinner when exploring this part of Ibiza.

Getting to Es Cubells Beach

From Es Cubells village, follow the signs towards Ses Boques and the coast. The road descends steeply towards the beach, so drive carefully. Parking is available near Ses Boques but spaces can be limited, particularly during the busy summer months.
