Es Codolar Beach, South West Ibiza

Es Codolar is one of the longest and most distinctive beaches in South West Ibiza. Stretching for approximately 3.2 kilometres, this peaceful pebble beach offers beautiful Mediterranean water and a wonderfully undeveloped setting.

Located between Ibiza Airport and the fashionable beaches around Cala Jondal, Es Codolar is particularly popular with locals and visitors looking to escape Ibiza’s busier sandy beaches. Its proximity to the airport also makes it an interesting spot for plane watching.

Es Codolar Beach

Unlike many of Ibiza’s famous beaches, Es Codolar remains relatively natural and uncrowded. The shoreline consists predominantly of smooth pebbles, so beach shoes can be useful when entering the water.

The sea can be beautifully clear, making Es Codolar a lovely place for swimming on calm days. There is limited parking close to the beach, but facilities are minimal, so it is worth bringing water and anything else you need for your visit.

Restaurants Near Es Codolar

Although there are no major restaurants directly on Es Codolar beach, several excellent Ibiza restaurants are just a short drive away.

Sa Caleta Restaurant – Located beside Es Bol Nou beach, Sa Caleta is a long-established family-run restaurant specialising in fresh fish, seafood, paella, bullit de peix and traditional Ibicencan cooking. Its large Mediterranean terrace makes it particularly popular for a leisurely lunch.

Tropicana Ibiza Beach Club – Head towards nearby Cala Jondal for relaxed beachfront dining overlooking one of Ibiza’s most fashionable bays. Mediterranean dishes, seafood and a beautiful seaside setting make it an excellent lunch destination.

Cala Jondal restaurants – Cala Jondal is only a short drive from Es Codolar and is home to some of Ibiza’s best-known beach restaurants and clubs, making it easy to combine a quiet morning at Es Codolar with lunch in Cala Jondal.

Visiting Es Codolar

Es Codolar is an excellent choice if you enjoy quieter beaches, natural scenery and exploring a less commercial side of Ibiza. Its South West Ibiza location also puts Sa Caleta, Cala Jondal, Ses Salines and Ibiza Town within easy reach.
