Cala Jondal Beach Ibiza

Cala Jondal is one of the most famous beaches in south-west Ibiza, known for its clear Mediterranean waters, beautiful coastal setting and outstanding collection of beachfront restaurants and beach clubs.

Situated in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Cala Jondal – also known as Playa des Jondal or Platja des Jondal – is a wide, predominantly pebbly bay surrounded by pine-covered hills. It has become one of Ibiza's favourite destinations for combining a day beside the sea with a long lunch, cocktails and music.

Cala Jondal Restaurants & Beach Clubs

One of the main reasons to visit Cala Jondal is its excellent choice of places to eat and drink.

Jondal (Casa Jondal) is one of the bay's most renowned restaurants. Led by chef Rafa Zafra, Jondal specialises in exceptional fish and seafood, served in a stylish but relaxed beachfront setting. It is particularly popular for leisurely Mediterranean lunches.

Blue Marlin Ibiza is Cala Jondal's internationally famous beach club, combining Mediterranean dining, cocktails, beach beds and music. The atmosphere becomes livelier as the day progresses, making it a popular choice for visitors looking for the classic Ibiza beach-club experience.

Yemanja offers a more traditional restaurant experience overlooking the water. Expect Mediterranean and Spanish dishes, seafood and paella in a relaxed setting beside the sea.

Tropicana Ibiza is another long-established Cala Jondal favourite, with a beachfront restaurant, beach bar and sunbeds. Its laid-back atmosphere makes it an excellent option for spending an entire day at the beach.

During the summer months, advance restaurant and beach-bed reservations are highly recommended.

The Beach

Cala Jondal is approximately 225 metres long and is mainly pebbles rather than sand, so beach shoes can be useful. The sheltered bay and clear water make it a beautiful spot for swimming, while yachts and boats regularly anchor offshore during the summer.

Getting to Cala Jondal

Cala Jondal is easily reached by car or taxi from Ibiza Town, Sant Josep and the surrounding areas of south and south-west Ibiza. Parking is available around the bay and at several of the restaurants, although spaces can become limited during the busiest summer periods.
