San Lorenzo (Sant Lorenc) is a small rural
village located towards the north of Ibiza, but still only about 25
minutes from Ibiza Town. It may be a bit of a cliché but it does
feel that tourism and time haven't really affected this village
much over the years.
In the village of San Lorenzo are 2 restaurants, including one traditional eaterie, Casanova, and also La Paloma, the popular Mediterranean / Italian organic restaurant with beautiful al-fresco dining. Other than the church there is a woodland with nature trails & walks. You can almost drive through San Lorenzo and miss it! Far from the clubs this is a perfect area for renting a rural Ibiza villa, switching off and re-charging your batteries.
Nearby villages include Santa Gertrudis, San Carlos (Sant Carles), San Miguel (Sant Miquel), San Juan (Sant Joan). From San Lorenzo and the surrounding countryside you have easy access to the beaches along the East Coast such as Santa Eulalia and Cala Llonga and to the north at Cala Xaracca, Puerto San Miguel and Benirras (the "hippy beach"), which are all within about a 20 minute drive. Las Dalias hippy market near San Carlos village is also close by and has family friendly events.
