Cala Conta Beach, Ibiza

Cala Conta, also known as Cala Comte or Platges de Comte, is one of the most beautiful and recognisable beaches on Ibiza’s west coast. Famous for its crystal-clear turquoise water, sandy coves and spectacular sunsets, it is a beach well worth adding to your Ibiza itinerary.

Located in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, close to Cala Bassa and Cala Codolar, Cala Conta is made up of several small sandy coves and rocky sections overlooking the Mediterranean and the islands just offshore.

Swimming & Snorkelling at Cala Conta

The wonderfully clear water is one of Cala Conta’s biggest attractions. The combination of sandy seabed and rocky areas makes it excellent for swimming and snorkelling, with beautiful shades of turquoise and blue throughout the bay.

Families can enjoy the shallower sections, although conditions can vary and swimmers should always be aware of currents and follow local safety advice.

Cala Conta Sunset

Cala Conta is particularly famous for its Ibiza sunsets. Its west-facing position provides panoramic views across the sea towards offshore islands including Illa des Bosc and Sa Conillera.

During summer, visitors gather on the beach and surrounding rocks in the late afternoon to watch the sun disappear over the Mediterranean. If sunset is high on your Ibiza wish list, Cala Conta should certainly be on your itinerary.

Restaurants at Cala Conta

One of the best-known venues here is Sunset Ashram, positioned above the beach with superb views across the bay. There are also several restaurants nearby, making it easy to combine a day at the beach with lunch, dinner or sunset drinks.

Getting to Cala Conta & Parking

Cala Conta can be reached by car, and parking is available near the beach. However, it becomes extremely popular during July and August, so arriving early is recommended if you are driving.

Seasonal public transport also connects Cala Conta with San Antonio, providing a useful alternative to driving during the busy summer months.
