Sa Caleta Beach, South West Ibiza

Sa Caleta, also known as Es Bol Nou, is a beautiful small beach on Ibiza’s south-west coast, close to Cala Jondal and Ibiza Airport. Sheltered beneath distinctive red-orange cliffs, this picturesque cove is a great choice for swimming, snorkelling and a relaxed Mediterranean lunch.

Sa Caleta Beach

The beach at Sa Caleta is approximately 110 metres long, with a mixture of sand and rocky areas. Its sheltered position and clear water make it particularly appealing for swimming and snorkelling.

Traditional fishermen’s huts at sea level add to the character of the cove, while the dramatic red cliffs provide one of the most recognisable coastal landscapes in southern Ibiza.

There is free parking close to the beach, although spaces are limited. During the summer, particularly at weekends and around lunchtime, arriving earlier in the day is advisable.

Restaurants at Sa Caleta

One of the highlights of visiting the beach is Sa Caleta Restaurant, a long-established family-run restaurant located beside Es Bol Nou.

The restaurant specialises in traditional Ibicencan and Mediterranean cuisine, with fresh fish and seafood playing a central role. Local favourites include paella, bullit de peix and lobster stew. After lunch, try a Café Caleta, the restaurant’s distinctive coffee speciality inspired by the fishermen who worked along this stretch of Ibiza’s coastline.

The outdoor terrace makes Sa Caleta Restaurant an excellent choice for a leisurely lunch beside the Mediterranean. Booking ahead is recommended, especially during the summer.

For more dining options, nearby Cala Jondal is home to several of Ibiza’s best-known beach restaurants and clubs, including Tropicana, Yemanjá and Jondal (Casa Jondal). It is easy to combine a morning at Sa Caleta with lunch or an afternoon at Cala Jondal.
