Cala d’Hort Beach, Ibiza

Cala d’Hort is one of the most beautiful and photographed beaches in Ibiza, famous for its spectacular views across the Mediterranean towards the iconic island of Es Vedrà.

Located on Ibiza’s southwest coast, south of Cala Vadella and Cala Carbó, this picturesque bay is a wonderful place for swimming, relaxing over a long Mediterranean lunch and enjoying one of Ibiza’s memorable sunsets.

Cala d’Hort Beach

The beach is approximately 400 metres long and has a mixture of sand and pebbles. The clear Mediterranean water is ideal for swimming and snorkelling, while boat trips offer another way to explore the coastline and see Es Vedrà from the sea.

The real attraction, however, is the setting. Rising dramatically from the Mediterranean directly opposite the beach, Es Vedrà creates one of Ibiza’s most recognisable views.

Restaurants at Cala d’Hort

Cala d’Hort is also an excellent destination for a leisurely seaside lunch, particularly if you enjoy traditional Ibicencan fish, seafood and rice dishes.

Restaurant El Carmen de Cala d'Hort sits beside the beach with wonderful views towards Es Vedrà. A long-established family restaurant, El Carmen specialises in Mediterranean and Ibicencan cuisine, including paella, fresh seafood and the traditional local dish bullit de peix.

Restaurant Cala d'Hort is another popular choice directly overlooking the bay. Its location makes it ideal for combining a morning on the beach with a relaxed Mediterranean lunch.

Es Boldado occupies a spectacular position on the cliffs overlooking Cala d’Hort, Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell. The restaurant specialises in fish, seafood and rice dishes, including bullit de peix. It has separate road access and is particularly worth visiting for the panoramic sea views.

Booking ahead for restaurants is advisable during the busy summer months.

Parking & Getting to Cala d’Hort

Parking close to Cala d’Hort is limited, particularly during July and August, so we recommend arriving early. The road down to the beach is steep and can become busy during peak periods.

If you are planning to spend the whole day here, arrive in the morning, enjoy the beach and stay for lunch or dinner before watching the evening light over Es Vedrà.
