Ses Boques is located at Playa de Ses Boques, below the small village of Es Cubells in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia.

Es Cubells is one of Ibiza's most attractive little villages, sitting high above the Mediterranean on the island's southern coastline. From the village, the route towards Ses Boques winds down towards the sea and the secluded pebbly cove where the restaurant sits.

The relatively hidden location is a large part of its charm.

While Ibiza has plenty of restaurants overlooking famous beaches, Ses Boques feels considerably more secluded. Pine-covered hillsides, rocky coastline and clear Mediterranean water surround the restaurant, creating the sort of setting that encourages you to forget about your plans for the rest of the afternoon.

The story began in 1974, when Joan Ribas and Lourdes Tur established a small beach bar in this remote corner of the island. The restaurant as it stands today was subsequently built in 1987.

Playa de Ses Boques is a small pebbly cove, and its understated nature is exactly what makes it special. The surrounding cliffs and vegetation create a wonderfully secluded atmosphere, with the Mediterranean stretching out in front of the restaurant.

Come here primarily for the restaurant and setting rather than for a conventional Ibiza beach day.

For us, that is part of the attraction. Ses Boques feels like somewhere you've discovered rather than somewhere you've simply arrived.

Getting to Ses Boques

Getting there is part of the adventure.

Head first towards the village and church of Es Cubells. From here, follow the signs towards Ses Boques and the coast. The restaurant advises that after approximately one kilometre you'll see a blue sign leading towards its parking area.

The final approach is steep, so take your time.

Parking is available but can be limited, particularly during busy summer periods. We recommend allowing plenty of time for your journey rather than arriving in a rush.

If you're staying in one of our Ibiza villas and don't want to drive, arranging a private driver or transfer can make the day considerably more relaxing.

When Is Ses Boques Open?

Ses Boques currently lists its kitchen hours as 1pm until 8pm and is closed on Tuesdays.

Opening days and hours in Ibiza can change during the season, so we always recommend checking directly with the restaurant when making your plans.

The restaurant can become busy during the summer, especially at weekends and throughout July and August, so booking in advance is strongly recommended.

Is Ses Boques Worth Visiting?

For us, absolutely – particularly if you appreciate the more authentic side of Ibiza.

Ses Boques isn't about creating the biggest or loudest beach-club experience. Its appeal comes from precisely the opposite direction.

You come for a long lunch overlooking the sea, freshly prepared fish, the scent of the Mediterranean and a setting that feels wonderfully removed from Ibiza's busier resorts.

It is the kind of place that works especially well during a villa holiday, when there is no need to rush from one attraction to another. Have a late lunch, enjoy the view and let the afternoon unfold at its own pace.
