A Family-Run Ibiza Restaurant Since 1988

One of the things that makes Sa Caleta special is its history.

The restaurant was founded in 1988 by Pepín Pujolet and Victoria Baos. What began as a simple beachside establishment developed into one of Ibiza's best-known traditional seafood restaurants.

Today, the restaurant remains in the family.

Its cooking has been influenced by the family's fishing background and recipes handed down by Pepín's mother, Catalina Puvil. Despite the restaurant's popularity, its focus remains firmly on traditional Ibicencan seafood cuisine and good-quality local ingredients.

That history gives Sa Caleta an atmosphere quite different from many of Ibiza's newer restaurants and beach clubs.

The beach itself is relatively small, with a mixture of sand and rocky areas, backed by the spectacular red cliffs that make this corner of Ibiza instantly recognisable.

Traditional fishermen's huts at sea level add to its character.

A morning beside the water followed by a long lunch at Sa Caleta Restaurant is a wonderfully simple Ibiza day.

Parking is available in the area, although Sa Caleta can become busy around lunchtime and during the summer, so allow a little extra time.

Close to the beach are the remains of the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta, an important archaeological site connected with the earliest Phoenician settlement of Ibiza.
