La Paloma Ibiza – A Beautiful Countryside Restaurant in San Lorenzo

Tucked away in the peaceful countryside of San Lorenzo (Sant Llorenç de Balàfia), La Paloma Ibiza is one of those special places that captures a very different side of the island.

Far removed from Ibiza's busy beach clubs and lively resorts, La Paloma combines beautiful gardens, relaxed surroundings and fresh homemade food in the heart of rural Ibiza. Whether you visit for a leisurely lunch beneath the orange trees or dinner in the candlelit garden, it is a wonderful restaurant to discover during an Ibiza villa holiday.

La Paloma Ibiza: A Restaurant with a Story

La Paloma opened in 2004 after one family set out to create a restaurant that worked in harmony with Ibiza's natural beauty and traditional character.

The restaurant occupies a former finca in the tiny village of San Lorenzo, surrounded by citrus orchards and the beautiful countryside of central Ibiza.

What started as a relatively small family project has developed into one of Ibiza's best-known countryside restaurants while retaining the informal, welcoming atmosphere that made it so appealing in the first place.

The restaurant's food is closely associated with chef Prasuna Coppini, whose background includes traditional Italian cooking learned from her mother in Tuscany, combined with flavours and influences gathered through travelling.

The result is a restaurant that feels distinctly Mediterranean while resisting the temptation to become overly formal.

La Paloma by Day

Visit La Paloma by Day and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed.

Lunch is served surrounded by greenery in the restaurant's charming orange grove, making it an excellent place for a long lunch while exploring the quieter interior of Ibiza.

The daytime menu combines Mediterranean cooking with Middle Eastern, Asian and North African influences.

Expect dishes such as generous salads, homemade focaccia, hummus and falafel alongside sourdough pizzas, seasonal specials and La Paloma's popular burger. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.

Fresh juices and smoothies add to the laid-back lunchtime atmosphere.

It's particularly enjoyable for families and groups staying in one of our villas in San Lorenzo, Santa Gertrudis or the surrounding Ibiza countryside.

La Paloma by Night

As evening arrives, La Paloma takes on a different personality.

Tables in the garden are illuminated by candlelight, creating an intimate setting for dinner beneath the Ibiza night sky.

The evening restaurant concentrates on Italian-inspired cooking, with a deliberately compact menu that allows the kitchen to focus on fresh dishes and quality ingredients.

The selection changes regularly but typically incorporates pasta and risotto alongside meat, fresh fish and vegetarian and vegan choices.

Vegetables are sourced locally and organically whenever possible, while selected ingredients are brought from Italy.

There is also a carefully considered wine selection with natural, organic and biodynamic wines alongside Spanish and Italian classics.

It's an excellent option for couples, families and groups wanting a memorable dinner without heading into Ibiza Town or one of the island's larger resorts.

Why We Love La Paloma

There are plenty of fashionable restaurants in Ibiza, but La Paloma offers something a little different.

Its appeal comes from the combination of location, atmosphere and simplicity. The gardens feel wonderfully relaxed, the food revolves around fresh ingredients and the setting encourages you to slow down and enjoy being in Ibiza.

It's equally suitable for a relaxed lunch after a morning at the beach, dinner with friends or a special evening during your holiday.

Most importantly, it feels connected to the rural Ibiza surrounding it.

For guests staying in one of our San Lorenzo villas, having somewhere like La Paloma close by is one of the pleasures of choosing this part of the island.
