If beaches are your priority, check driving times to the beaches you are most likely to visit. If you expect to spend several evenings in Ibiza Town, staying on the opposite side of the island may mean longer journeys home.

2. Do You Need a Car When Renting a Villa in Ibiza?

For many of the villas we feature, we recommend hiring a car.

A private villa may not be within walking distance of a supermarket, beach, restaurant or taxi rank, and having a car gives you much more flexibility during your stay.

A hire car is particularly useful for:

• Exploring different parts of Ibiza
• Disposing of household rubbish
• Travelling to and from more rural villas

3. Taxis Can Be Difficult During Peak Summer

Taxis are available throughout Ibiza, but getting a taxi to collect you directly from a rural villa can sometimes be more challenging, particularly during the busiest weeks of July and August.

Villa locations can also be difficult for drivers unfamiliar with rural roads.

If you have an important dinner reservation, club booking, airport transfer or other journey where timing matters, arranging transport in advance can remove unnecessary stress.

4. Understand Your Villa Security Deposit

Nearly every Ibiza villa requires a security or caution deposit.

This is separate from the cost of your villa rental and is designed to cover issues such as:

• Accidental damage

• Other costs resulting from the property not being returned in the agreed condition

The exact security deposit varies depending on the villa.

5. Check-In and Check-Out Times

Check-in: from approximately 3pm
Check-out: approximately 10am

During the main summer season, particularly between July and mid-September, early check-ins and late check-outs can be difficult to arrange because villas often have guests departing and arriving on the same day.

Outside peak season, there can sometimes be more flexibility depending on the property's booking schedule.

Where a late check-out can be arranged, an additional charge may apply.

6. Plan Your First Supermarket Shop

Unlike a hotel, a self-catering villa will not necessarily contain everyday household products when you arrive.

It is therefore sensible to assume you may need essentials such as:

• Drinking water
• Breakfast items
• Milk
• Coffee
• Snacks
• Washing-up liquid
• Dishwasher tablets
• Toiletries
• Other food and drink for your first day

Ibiza has large supermarkets as well as smaller local stores and convenience shops.

7. Remember to Dispose of Your Rubbish

Villa guests are generally responsible for removing their household rubbish and taking it to the communal waste and recycling points located around the island.

Unlike at home, you should not assume rubbish will be collected directly from the villa.

During the hot summer months it is a good idea to remove rubbish regularly rather than allowing it to accumulate.

This is another reason why having a hire car can be particularly useful when staying at a rural property.

8. Wi-Fi, Electricity and Water in Ibiza Villas

Most guests will have no problems with electricity, water or internet during their holiday.

However, Ibiza becomes exceptionally busy during the summer and infrastructure can occasionally experience temporary disruptions.

The island can also experience storms and heavy rainfall, which may temporarily affect services.

If reliable internet is particularly important because you intend to work remotely from your Ibiza villa, tell us before booking.

9. Understand Ibiza's Noise Rules

A private villa offers plenty of space to enjoy time with friends and family, but it is important to remember that Ibiza has strict rules regarding excessive noise.

Most of our guests are families and groups looking for a relaxing villa holiday. Celebrating a birthday, anniversary or special occasion is completely understandable, but a villa rental should not be treated as a private nightclub or party venue.

Unless specifically agreed otherwise:

Only registered guests staying at the villa should use the property.

Parties and events are not permitted.

Guests must also respect neighbours and local regulations regarding noise, particularly late at night.

10. Keep Your Personal Belongings Secure

Ibiza is a wonderful and welcoming holiday destination, but the same common-sense precautions you would use while travelling anywhere should still apply.

• Use the villa safe for valuables where available
• Avoid carrying or leaving large amounts of cash
• Close and lock doors and windows when leaving
• Activate the security alarm where one is provided
• Do not leave valuable items visible outside or in vehicles

Taking a few simple precautions means you can concentrate on enjoying your holiday.

11. Check Exactly What Your Villa Includes

Not every Ibiza villa offers exactly the same facilities or services.

Before booking, check the features that matter most to your group.
